The program is a Microsoft Windows Forms application. It needs the following hardware and software:
- A computer running Windows 7 or later. Windows 8 and Windows 10 are fine.
- A screen of at least 900 by 590 pixels resolution
- If you wish to use the Hal's Archive Service, an internet connection
Although Hal is fundamentally a Windows application it has been run successfully on a Mac using an emulator. See this post on the community website.
